This week we will continue to count the days until our baby chicks hatch. We will begin to talk about what they will need once they are able to come out of the incubator. The children will help prepare their box and heat lamp. May Day is this week so we will be making May Day baskets and goodies! A walk may be a good idea this week since my playground is currently under construction.
Today we made May baskets from recycled tissue paper and cardboard. We also read several books about May Day and May flowers.

We had a tornado drill today. I made it very clear to the children that there was not a tornado. We talked about a safe place to hide if high winds, rain and "pieces of ice" falling from the sky. So...we had a party in the bathroom!
May Day flower cookies with the cookie press was a fun indoor activity today!

We decided to get a head start on our Mother's Day cards today, finally a chance to use recycled bottle caps!
