We will start this week off by having the children finish Tie Dying their Fourth of July shirts for out Patriotic Parade. On Monday we will be making a small gift for our mail carrier in honor of Postal Carrier Appreciation Day. Our Monarch Butterfly has almost emerged from its cocoon. The children should be able to watch this process and hopefully by Wednesday we will have a beautiful butterfly and be releasing it back to its natural habitat. I picked up the children's first prize from the Manhattan Public Library, a Varsity Doughnut coupon and a book. They received these for reading 200 minutes during the month of June. Wednesday we will have a Patriotic Parade for our friends at Stoneybrook. We will be celebrating with grilled hotdogs and ice cream sundaes. I am closed Thursday and Friday so it is a relatively short week! When the children come back to daycare next Wednesday, I hope to have some baby chicks for them to enjoy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bayer Stone dumped off 17 tons of Limestone Screenings for my "vacation project." The kids were very intrigued by the dump truck.
Happy Independence Day! (More pictures posted under the Stoneybrook 06/01/2019 tab)
Patriotic Dresses and shirts are complete. Today we made flag cookies from graham crackers and icing.
My Proud Readers! They received their first prize from the Manhattan Public Library's Summer Reading Program. A new book and a coupon for a Varsity Doughnut!
Our chrysalis has begun to darken. I am hoping we have a Monarch Butterfly before the Holiday weekend so the children can see it emerge from the chrysalis.
