Monday we will be doing a couple of Valentine activities including Valentine BINGO. All Valentine crafts will be posted under the Valentine's Day 2019 tab. We will begin talking about recycling and how it helps our planet. It is Dental Health month so I have a variety of activities which compliment this lesson. Thursday we will be visiting our friends at Stoneybrook Retirement Home and Friday we will be visiting Homestead Assisted Living. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mmmmmm.... Chocolate Chip Cookies for the trash man (and us)
Monday kicks off National Kindness week, today we colored our trash collector pictures. Tomorrow we will be making him a special snack for when he stops on Monday for our weekly trash pick-up. I will pick him up a gift card to Radina's as well. Trash collector's jobs are many times overlooked and they should be acknowledged for all of their hard work!
Princess/Magician Wands...maybe a Parascope (AKA paper towel rolls)
******************************************************************************* Who needs toys when we have "trash?" This morning Oakley wanted to make cars for the race track rug. We colored toilet paper rolls, cut a hole in the top and glued on milk jug lids for the wheels. This provided hours of entertainment today and it was totally FREE!
We made a mouth with teeth today so the children could practice flossing. It was made from recycled cardboard and egg cartons. They learned how important it is to floss.
Two more boxes complete. Hadlee and Kendall chose colorful duct tape which was donated by one of our families.
Today we started making Valentine boxes. Oakley made a Fort Night Laptop and Lakin made hers with blingy hearts. Two down, 7 to go! We will make two more tomorrow!
**************************************************** Tooth People Our Tooth People were made primarily out of our colored paper scrap bin. The kids punched circle eyes and made accordion arms and legs.
